These distances were costly not only in terms of transport and logistics, but also in terms of extended lead times and limiting production quantities to batch 1, Bertolotto being geared for custom production and deep customisation on the doorstep of each family. Strong research and development of finishes, design, lines, colours, opening systems, combined with precise communication in the sector (in recent years also through TV and radio channels, as well as online and social channels), have led the company on a strong growth trend. This constant growth has brought with it a great responsibility: to create its own corporate culture that not only values each person within it, but which can also be reflected in the industrial area. In Torre San Giorgio, therefore, to the 3,000 square metres covered in 1995, a further 35.000 square metres, 60% of them, were built over time, added from 2016 to 2021. These extensions were carried out on an area that is now about 110.000 square metres, the result of acquisitions of land and buildings, in accordance with a project aimed at increasing production efficiency and customer service. In Piacenza, the 21.000 square metres of covered space, as well as being used for the production of security doors that Gardesa S.p.A has historically manufactured since 1978, will from 2023 support a strategic logistical part for Italy that concerns the internal doors produced in the Torre San Giorgio factory. The project is currently in a constant development phase, and the financial planning for the next three years includes several acquisitions of competitors, both in the internal door and security door sectors. In the Torre San Giorgio factory, already a flexible Industry 4.0 production centre and able to produce customised solutions in an infinite number of internal door types, further sales volumes with other brands will be brought in.
